![]() | Dr. Charles Fankhauser is a graduate of Creighton University Dental School and has been practicing preventative dentistry in Olympia, Washington for over 28 years. It is important to Dr. Fankhauser that his patients receive the highest quality of care, and that their smiles reflect the full services that he can possibly provide. His staff is a reflection of his care and trust and as a result have been with him on an average of over 10 years. Dr. Fankhauser is adamant about attending continuing education courses as dental technology is constantly changing. Dr. Fankhauser attends seminars frequently to keep abreast of changes in dental materials, techniques and procedures. He is particularly interested in cosmetic dentistry which includes crown and bridge, tooth whitening, and cosmetic bonding. Dr. Chuck (as most patients know him) helped form the first dental team for ILAC (Institute of Latin American Concern) with Father Ernie Travieso of Creighton University. In 1976 Creighton sent a team of dentists, doctors, pharmacists and nursing faculty and students to the Dominican Republic. The medical mission was to set up small medical centers to serve the people in villages throughout the country. Dr. Fankhauser and his wife served in the Dominican Republic for two summers. Upon graduation from Creighton Dental School, Dr. Fankhauser received the Community Dentistry Award. Dr. Fankhauser is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Washington Dental Association, and the Thurston/Mason county Dental Society. He is also a member of the local Kiwanis Club and volunteers his dental services to outreach programs such as the Union Gospel Mission. New patients are always welcomed and his well- trained staff is able to handle dental emergencies.
